George Herman “Babe” Ruth hunted, fished and celebrated  in Northern New Jersey; he barnstormed with his fellow Yankee and German American Ludwig Heinrich “Lou” Gehrig all over the world . Ruth introduced baseball to Japan and was a supporter of the Negro Leagues a connection which probably caused him to lose his future in baseball. He left a trail of good will , charity and good humor in Lake Hopatcong, Greenwood Lake, Franklin, Andover, and Stanhope New Jersey. This presentation is based on local tales and stories.
