The Rescue of Science and Learning

When Adolph Hitler and the Nazi Armies were welcomed into Vienna, Jewish Scientists and

 authors were rescued by American Funding.  Edward R. Murrow was appointed Chairman of The Emergency Committee In Aid of Displaced Foreign Scholars. Authors  including Pearl S. Buck and Bennett Cerf rescued 500 “lost literati” from Nazi controlled Vienna. The exit of the Jewish citizens was, ironically, machinated by Adolf Eichmann .
